Australia and hardcore go together like cheese on pizza – the circle pit is our second home; we eat, sleep and breathe kick drums; and our love affair with breakdowns is one we’re pretty sure will live on forever. So, when we found out that Californian melodicore maniacs Being As An Ocean were coming back down under, we snagged tickets faster than you can hit a china cymbal. Of course, it wasn’t just the soul-cleansing screams (and beard) of Joel Quartuccio that reeled us in – Melbourne shredders Void Of Vision are well renowned for being one of the best in the game, and Perth favourites Saviour back in action as direct support was just too good to resist. All three bands absolutely slayed the Factory Theatre in Sydney, but don’t take our word for it: have a flick through Hayden Nixon‘s goddamn perfect gallery.
