Tuning: D A D G B E (Drop D)
Some of us are mere mortals, and then there are people like Chris Zoupa. You may not have come across Zoupa’s YouTube channel before, but the Melbourne-based guitarist and songwriter is a bit of a whiz with an axe in his hand, and knows a thing or two about sharing the secrets of his craft. From shredding tips and tricks to a blow-by-blow of Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets” solo, Zoupa is all about turning you into a metal maestro.
Each week, Zoupa will be bringing you tutorial videos on how to nail that solo from your favourite heavy songs. In this edition, he’ll be looking at Lamb Of God’s “Walk With Me In Hell”, from their 2006 album Sacrament. Here’s a few words from the man himself:
Hey guys, Chris Zoupa here. Check out my tutorial of the guitar solo from the track “Walk With Me In Hell” by Lamb Of God off the delicious Sacrament album. This solo consists of a lot of fast alternate picking and uses a mixture of pentatonics in the key of ‘D’ minor and a few shred runs using Dominant Phrygian scale, which Lamb Of God are massive fans of.
Happy shredding guys.
