Periphery Shredder Drops Orchestral Cover Of “Get Schwifty” From Rick And Morty

maxresdefault

Before Rick and Morty crash landed on Adult Swim toward the end of 2013, creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon pitched the show to FOX, who turned it down for being “basically Futurama“. And while you’ll never see us denying that Futurama is one of the most important and life-changing television series of all time, we have to admit: FOX, you kinda fucked up a bit there.

Rick and Morty is one of the best adult-oriented cartoons of our time, in no short part because of its hilariously ridiculous “what the fuck?” moments (aka the entire show) – like the “Get Schwifty” bit from last season’s episode of the same name.

Already having gifted us with a djent-y cover of the show’s theme song, Periphery shred lord Misha Mansoor has now taken it upon himself to recreate “Get Schwifty” with his brother Axel, this time ditching the guitars in favour of something a little more… orchestral. Our verdict? Brilliant. Simply brilliant. We’re looking forward to Periphery’s complete Rick and Morty cover album – released under Periperick, of course.

Tell us – do you like what they got?

Take a peak at Misha and Axel Mansoor’s schwifty cover of “Get Schwifty” below!
