Ocean Grove Join UNFD Family; Drop New Track
Odd world music/experimental hardcore outfit Ocean Grove have announced that they’ve inked a deal with powerhouse Aussie label UNFD. The well-deserved signing has been accompanied by the release of their new banger of a single, “Lights On Kind Of Lover”.
If you’re getting stoked, just imagine how frontman Luke Holmes is feeling. “We’ve spent the better half of the past year in ambivalence deciding who and where is the best stream to entrust with our music,” he commented. “UNFD through their actions, not words, proved to us that they were the best entity for us to take our art above and beyond. We are especially excited about the creative freedom they have afforded us”.
Jake Taylor, In Hearts Wake’s leading man, also shared his compliments and welcomed Ocean Grove as labelmates. He described them as “one of those exciting new bands that can pull off even the strangest of things and still be great. Five unique characters just getting weird on stage hasn’t looked this good since the ’90s”. You can get weird with Ocean Grove when they hop on the Northlane/In Hearts Wake “Equinox Tour” this June.
As part of the next step of their career, the Melbourne lads have also unveiled The Rhapsody Manifesto. It’s somewhat of a moral code, “an agreement between the ocean grove artistic collective & the not so odd world.” Have a read here, and make sure to educate yourself on their message to followers: “Make the most of the time you have. We strongly believe in social connection and death of the ego.”
