Modern Baseball Lose Their Minds In New Video For “Wedding Singer”
Modern Baseball and Kyle Thrash make for one damn fine collaboration. The filmographer has covered all of the Philly indie quartet’s film clips thus far – to results nothing short of breathtaking – and the new music video for “Wedding Singer” is no different.
“Wedding Singer” is the third single to come from MoBo’s forthcoming third LP, Holy Ghost, following the double whammy of “Apple Cider, I Don’t Mind” and “Everyday”. The cut falls similarly in line with the upbeat grooviness of the former, with just a hint of extra dancefloor-powering energy to tip the good vibes into overdrive.
The clip itself is a solid watch, too. After a funeral goes pear shaped and ends with mourners punching on in the middle of a cemetery, an anxious dude named Charlie is met by a newfound accomplice in the neon purple-haired Margaret (fuck off, we’re not calling her a manic pixie dream girl. This is a music video – nobody has a genuine backstory). The two speed their troubles away in a hearse, tear shit up on the dancefloor, and roam an ominous dimly-lit tunnel before Charlie loses his mind (again).
All the while, Modern Baseball jam out in what looks to be some sort of fucked up underground mental lab. What it lacks in sense, the video makes up for with great acting and editing to match. It doesn’t hurt that “Wedding Singer” is a total banger, either.
The quartet are set to drop Holy Ghost next week on Friday, May 13th. In the meantime, the boys dropped into Def Wolf Studios to smash out a couple of jams for us – check out their BLUNT TV session by clicking these words.
