Metallica Drop “Moth Into Flame”; Tease Lemmy Tribute On New Album

Having a slow week? Metallica can fix that. The music legends have unveiled track two of their upcoming release Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, Moth Into Flame”. It was premiered by Howard Stern in his New York Studio, and is accompanied by a video directed by Tom Kirk (Muse’s media manager).

In the lead-up to the new record dropping, it was recently revealed that track “Murder One” is a tribute to the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Lemmy passed away last year after a battle with cancer. Frontman James Hetfield described him as “kind of a father figure, he helped us a lot. He was unafraid. And he was a character. And he was himself.” “No matter who you are”, he added, “how could you not be inspired by that?”

Hardwired…To Self-Destruct will drop mid-November and marks Metallica’s tenth studio album. It was actually produced by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, who worked on it with Greg Fidelman. Metallica have put out the word to keep watching their space for “more information, more tour dates and just in general, more Metallica!! IT’S ON!” That seems promising.
