Ever Wondered What A Post-Hardcore Twenty One Pilots Would Sound Like?
Twenty One Pilots have made quite an uproar in the alternative music scene as of late, for better and for worse. While most of those that walk away from the Ohio duo’s tunes do so completely mind-blown by the cathartic pop commotion they’d just inflicted on their ears, some find themselves tied up in the web of outlets like Rock Sound praising the band as future rock icons, despite the lack of riffs and roars in their proceedings.
Today, that changes… Kind of.
Seminal post-hardcore quintet Our Last Night have taken it upon themselves to give Twenty One Pilots’ sleeper smash “Stressed Out” a bit of a twist, filling it with tasty riffs and some questionably fitting pseudo-screams. Mic slinger Trevor Wentworth even does an alright job of emulating Tyler Joseph’s signature slick-but-still-kinda-melancholy singing style, too – it shouldn’t work, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t already on our fifth listen.
After selling out last year’s Blurryface tour in a matter of minutes, Twenty One Pilots will return to our shores this April and May for the 2016 Groovin’ The Moo festival!
Lend your ears to Our Last Night’s cover of “Stressed Out” below!
