Blink-182 Get Nostalgic On New Music Video For “Bored To Death”

It seems like Blink-182 are still dreaming of falling in love with the girl from the rock show with the release of a new clip for California lead single “Bored To Death”.

Following a lyric video released alongside the new album’s announcement, the video features a disenchanted high-school student who fantasises about hanging out on beaches, sneaking into swimming pools, and – appropriately – rocking out in packed DIY punk spaces with the edgy, fishnet-and-Doc Martens-wearing punk babe of his teenage dreams while bassist Mark Hoppus sings “It’s a long way back from 17”.

Considering that Hoppus is now 44, you can’t exactly fault the lyric for inaccuracy. Blink-182’s forthcoming comeback record, California, is set to premiere new guitarist Matt Skiba and a refreshed Blink altogether come July 1st. For those too antsy to wait that long, the band have also previously released lyric videos for the classic-channeling “Rabbit Hole” and micro-jam “Built This Pool”.

Let us know what you think: how does the new clip stack up to some of the classics?
