Avenged Sevenfold Are Live Streaming A 3D, 360-Degree Virtual Reality Concert

Avenged Sevenfold 16

The wait for the new Avenged Sevenfold album has been pretty excruciating, but the revered band are making it up to their fans by planning something huge. As part of their extensive tease for the new LP, they’ve announced that they’ll air a global 3D, 360 degree virtual reality live stream of a show. Cool, right?

The stream will be kick off tomorrow evening (Friday, October 28th – time TBA) and will be accessible via the VRTGO app, which is available on iOS and Android. Fifty Samsung Gear VR headsets will also be distributed to those in attendance of the unannounced concert.

Deborah Hyacinth, the SVP of Digital Marketing Innovation for Universal Music Group, described VRTGO as “a truly immersive and creative platform for our artists to tell their stories and invite their fans around the world to experience live performances and music videos like never before.”

There has been a lot of speculation about what A7X have on the way – especially following the release of their new single, “The Stage” – so hopefully the fact they’re getting active again signifies that we’ll have confirmation details about their new album sooner rather than later.

Chris Jericho, who is apparently close with vocalist M. Shadows, has been cited as reportedly leaking that it will be titled Voltaic Oceans and will release on December 9th. If that’s true, it seems fair to say that Christmas is coming early.

Prepare yourself for the VR experience by watching a live A7X video below!
