Along with a string of European tour dates set to kick off this November, beloved melodic hardcore outfit Being As An Ocean have revealed what we can only assume is a taste of new music.
Back in February, the band – led by frontman Joel Quartuccio – announced that they had left InVogue Records and inked a new deal with Equal Vision, a move which the singer himself described as being “like
an ocean a dream come true”. The band capped off the news with the release of “Dissolve”, their first new single since 2015’s self-titled LP, and a new album – however far away – seemed imminent.
Well, after a quick perusal of BAAO’s Facebook page, it seems they’re in full teaser mode with a 22-second video that shows off an as-yet unnamed new tune. The video was followed by a quick change of profile pic, which looks eerily like an upcoming album cover. Take a peek:
At the very least, we’re in for a new single, and if said design makes its way to a shirt we’ll take 10.
Earlier this year the band promised “a lot of amazing tours, more and more singles, and a band, full of best friends, excited and ready to make this year one of the best that BAAO has ever had”. It was promising then – especially when it resulted in an Australian tour with Saviour and Void Of Vision – and it’s just as promising now.
Whatever the case, we’re in for new Being As An Ocean remarkably soon, and that’s something we can all get behind.
