The Maine: Exclusive Track-By-Track “These Four Words” Interview!
Arizona pop rockers The Maine will be dropping their fourth release, the ghoulishly titled Forever Halloween, on June 7th via Rude Records.
Produced by Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs), Forever Halloween will be the band’s fourth studio effort and second consecutive self-funded release since their major label departure. The album was recorded live on analog tape, steering away from the use of computer editing techniques and setting the band apart from the bulk of their competitors. As a result, the album has an energy that’s the unique and direct result of five musicians jamming in a room together.
“The tape machine was like having an older, wiser, intimidatingly glowing woman in the room,” says frontman John O’Callaghan of the experience. “We were all meeting her for the first time, but she already knew everything there was to know about the five of us. In no single way judgmental, but she sniffed out the bullshit and wouldn’t allow us to be anyone we are not. We are now better men for meeting that woman”.
To get you stoked on what to expect from the album, here’s a track-by-track interview from vocalist John O’Callaghan where he talks about the song “These Four Words” so you can be all up in Forever Halloween‘s business come its release date next week. Enjoy!
Forever Halloween will be released via Rude Records on June 7th.
