What other names did you consider calling yourselves?
I can’t remember, so they must not have been any good!

Where are you from and what would be the most recognisable local landmark?
We’re originally from Newcastle, and the most recognisable landmark there is Andrew John’s ego. We all live in Melbourne now, so our most recognisable landmark would be… Ramsey Street?

Who is in your band, what do they play and what is their non-musical superpower?
Jamie – Vocals, guitar, and dad jokes.
Babor – Bass, and handsomeness.
Lauren – Drums, and mad ciggie rolling skills.
Marko – Guitar, vocals, and incredible pun abilities.
Kim – Guitar, vocals, and the ability to turn red after just one beer.

Name your three biggest influences.
Against Me!, Phil Ochs, and Born Against.

What’s the usual first topic of conversation when you take a break at rehearsal?
Funny animal videos on YouTube / “Is anyone going to the bottle shop?”

What’s your pre-show warm-up routine?
Find each other from every corner of the venue, and do a head count.

Tell us about your most memorable show.
Playing aboard MV Sam Simon to the whole Sea Shepherd Crew in Melbourne a few days before they left for campaign in the Southern Ocean. It was definitely one of those “Holy shit, how did we even get here?” moments for me. We hung out all evening, ate vegan pizza and were given a tour of the ship. It was an incredible experience!

What band would you most like to share the stage with and why?
I’d like to share a stage with The Drones because they are one of the most intriguing and exciting Australian bands at the moment for me. They have five members too, so we could share a backline easy!

What’s the most exciting album you’ve listened to recently?
Royal Headache’s High has been given a good flogging, in our van and our homes respectively.

What is your latest release and why should we buy it?
It’s called Succour – I’m not a very good salesperson, but if anything, at least the cover artwork is amazing and if you don’t like the music it’d make a nice poster!

If you could be endorsed by one company, who would it be?
The Human Fund, because they believe in money for the people.

Why are you going to make it to the top over all the other contenders in the musical arena?
Let’s not kid ourselves here; we’ll never “make it”. What I am happy to do, though, is to continue making music and playing shows with our peers and have a great time. That is everything right there!

Other than Dave Grohl, who has the best beard in rock?
It would have to be Billy Gibbon’s right? He could almost floss his ass crack it’s so long.

Wrap your ears around Fear Like Us’ track “Revolution Bummer” below!
