Fresh Fruit: Elliot The Bull
Elliot The Bull
What other names did you consider calling yourselves?
Our first name was The Ooomars but that didn’t last long.
Where are you from and what would be the most recognisable local landmark?
Central Coast, NSW. Probably the Beaches and the pubs – there’s not much going on here.
Who is in your band, what do they play and what is their non-musical superpower?
Jake – vocals and guitar / sewing.
Jared – bass / snooker.
Simon – guitar / gaming.
Milan – drums / saving lives.
Name your three biggest influences.
mewithoutYou, Radiohead and The Drones.
What’s the usual first topic of conversation when you take a break at rehearsal?
What’s for dinner, R Kelly and The Elder Scrolls.
What’s your pre-show warm-up routine?
Eat food, Sing songs and dance to Midnight Oil.
Tell us about your most memorable show.
We played a monster festival in Taiwan on a beach with massive bands from all over the world. That was pretty epic.
What band would you most like to share the stage with and why?
The Flaming Lips, because they’re wild!
What’s the most exciting album you’ve listened to recently?
Tie between The Peep Temple’s Joy and D.D Dumbo’s Utopia Defeated. They are both epics!
What is your latest release and why should we buy it?
Our new record is called Beast. It’s definitely our best work to date and we spent a long time getting it right, so we hope everyone enjoys it.
If you could be endorsed by one company, who would it be?
Elixir strings, because I break a string every show.
Why are you going to make it to the top over all the other contenders in the musical arena?
Because we won’t ever stop.
Other than Dave Grohl, who has the best beard in rock?
Rick Ruben and Moby.
